Time Pressure and Judgment

I’m reading Sarah Bonner’s Judgment and Decision Making in Accounting. She hits many fascinating areas, one of which is the relationship of time pressure and judgment.

She describes the research as showing an inverted U relationship. Without any pressure at all, judgment quality decreases because the task lacks an arousal component. However, time pressure that is too great also decreases judgment quality. The sweet spot lies in between.
