At McGladrey, we are good at self-studies, which are formal, for-credit, tracked, tested computer-based learning courses, and we are good at small podcasts and videos and other media at the other end of the spectrum: short, no formal credit, no interactivity. But we don’t really have the tools or much experience with the middle ground: short and no credit and easy to access like a podcast, but interactive and tracked like a self-study.
I’m working on putting the tools and infrastructure in place to build and distribute this kind of media, but one thing I’m not sure of is what to call these things. On-demand learning media? Mini-self-studies? Learning media on demand (L-MODS)? I’m open to suggestions.
